Joyor Rain Test: Can It Handle European Wet Roads?

Living in the Netherlands, Germany or the UK? Rain is daily life. The real question: will your scooter die in a puddle?
I tested three Joyor models in real European rain – morning commutes in Brussels, London, and Amsterdam. Here’s the honest answer.

What “Waterproof” Really Means
Most Joyor scooters are IP54 or IP65.
- IP54 – Splash-proof. Fine for light rain, short rides (<30 min). Don’t park in storms.
- IP65 – Jet-proof. Handles heavier rain and longer commutes. Better seals. Still – no submersion.
Water finds weak spots: throttle, display seam, or charge port cover left open.
Models I Tested
- S10-S-Z (IP54) – mid-range commuter
- E6-S (IP65) – higher waterproofing
- T6E Pro (ABE) (IP65 controller) – German-approved
3-Day Rain Test
Day 1 – Brussels: light rain, 45 min (S10-S-Z, IP54)
Result: Totally fine. No water inside. My shoes were soaked – scooter didn’t care.
Day 2 – London: moderate rain, 30 min + parked 2h (E6-S, IP65)
Result: Tiny moisture under dashboard edge. Wiped off. Started normally. No error codes.
Day 3 – Amsterdam: heavy rain + 5cm puddles, 20 min (T6E Pro ABE, IP65)
Result: Bone dry inside. Throttle sticky for a few minutes, fine next day.
Which Joyor for Rainy Countries?
Rainy zones (Germany, NL, Belgium, UK): Choose IP65 – E6-S, T6E Pro (ABE), or C10-E (ABE).
Dry zones (Spain, Italy, South France): IP54 is fine – S10-S-Z, Y8-S, S5 Pro.
Need German ABE? T6E (ABE) or C10-E (ABE).
Need Spanish DGT? T-PRO (DGT) – IP54, avoid heavy rain.

5 Quick Tips
- Always close the charge port cover.
- Dry your scooter after wet rides.
- Avoid deep puddles.
- Get a €10-15 rain cover for parking.
- Check tyre pressure – wet roads need grip.
FAQ
Q1: Can I ride my Joyor in heavy rain?
Yes if IP65 (E6-S, T6E Pro). IP54 for light rain only. Avoid storms.
Q2: Water got into battery compartment – what now?
Stop riding. Dry with soft cloth, air dry 24h in warm room. Don’t charge until dry.
Q3: Is T-PRO (DGT) safe for Spanish rain?
IP54 – fine for light rain. For wetter regions (Galicia, Basque Country), consider IP65.
Q4: Need extra waterproofing accessories?
Not necessary, but a rain cover is highly recommended. Some use silicone sealant on dashboard edge.
Q5: Does rain riding void warranty?
Normal rain use doesn’t. Submerging or deep floodwater may not be covered. Check your terms.
Bottom Line
Yes – ride your Joyor in rain. Choose the right IP rating for your city.
Own an IP54? Fine for short light rain.
Buying new in a rainy country? Spend more on IP65 (E6-S or T6E Pro).
Don’t store wet. Don’t ride through floodwater.
